PROJECT GOAL

To develop highly effective short-focus concentrator photovoltaic module and space application solar batteries (SB) based thereon with maximum achievable similarity to traditional deployment patterns and design parameters of regular planar space solar batteries and the possibility ensured for their application in existing and projected general-purpose space crafts without the requirement of accurate solar pointing.

Description:

 

Through the participation of SPF Dneprotechservice, LLC and SE "Design-engineering technological institute of instrumentation" the experimental models of concentrator solar modules based on three-dimensional carbon-fiber frame with dimensions 420mm×430mm×38mm

 

The results of the work performed were handed over to specialists of "Information satellite systems", JSC named after M.F. Reshetnyov for technical examination. Following its results the project was highly appraised and a proposition to continue activities for development of SB panel (2200´1720 mm) in order to manufacture engineer model of a solar battery for integrated ground testing and spaceflight testing.

As of today through the participation of SPF Dneprotechservice, LLC and project partners the stages of designing and development engineering of solar battery panels have been successfully completed.

 

The innovation technologies developed to make concentrator SB provide high science-related and technological class of the project and under the conditions of practical implementation in designing and manufacture of projected space crafts (SC) will allow them to compete favorably on the rapidly developing space technology market due to SC energy security, improvement of energy-mass characteristics more than twofold, as well as SC service life extension.
