In 2009 the contract to supply high-strength cast-iron tubbings for "10th anniversary of The Independence of Kazakhstan" mineshaft of Donskoy mining-and-processing works of TNK Kazchrome, JSC.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Donskoy mining-and-processing works, the branch of TNK Kazchrome, JSC, is the chrome ore mining-and-processing company located in western Kazakhstan in northern part of Mugalzhar mountains, based on Yuzhno-Kempirsay deposits which due to proven reserves take the second place in the world and due to the high quality are unequalled in the world. The Donskoy mining-and-processing works integrates 25 structural subdivisions employing 7700 men,. including 5 main producing shops: " Molodezhnaya" mineshaft, "10th anniversary of The Independence of Kazakhstan" (DNK) mineshaft, "Donskoy" mine with two open pits, DOF-1 and DOF-2. As on January 1, 2010 92,8% of chrome ore deposit structure are available for underground mining. |
Due to reduction of rich chrome ore reserves in upper deposit layers the Works is active in building of mineshafts. Ore mining at DNK mineshaft is based on "Almaz-Zhemchuzhina", " Millionnoye", "Pervomayskoye" and No.21 deposits. The mineshaft is opened up by means of 4 shafts: cage shaft, skip-cage shaft, ventilation and service shafts. Commissioning of the shaft is planned in two stages with annual capacity of 2 mil. tonnes of ore each. The first experimental stage of the mine with annual capacity of 100 th. tonnes was commissioned in 1999, and in the year 2001 it reached its full annal capacity of 2 mil. tonnes. In 2003 the second stage of construction began. |
